چکیده
Radiocontrast material is among the common drugs causing allergic reaction. Mostly it well tolerated. The symptoms range from mild with urticaria to fatal anaphylaxis, developing rapidly. Anaphylaxis most severe form of radiocontrast media (RCM) induced hypersensitivity With more use diagnostic and therapeutic procedure, increasing. We report here two cases anaphylactic reaction that occurred during coronary intervention for myocardial infarction.

Severe anaphylaxis following ant bites.
A 30-year old female developed itchy rash, fever, faintishness and vertigo one hour after being bitten by about 25 ants. She was allergic to beef. On examination her pulse rate was 110/ minute, blood pressure was 70/50 mm Hg and there were bilateral rhonchi on auscultation. We ensured her airway and oxygen was given via face mask. Adrenaline 0.5 ml, chlopheniramine 10 mg and hydrocortisone 200 ...
متن کاملParstatin prevents renal injury following ischemia/reperfusion and radiocontrast administration.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Parstatin is a 41-mer peptide formed by proteolytic cleavage on activation of the protease-activated receptor 1. Parstatin was recently found to be cardioprotective against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury. In the present study, it was hypothesized that parstatin would protect the kidneys in acute renal failure. METHODS We investigated the effects of parstatin on th...

Background: Toll like receptors (TLRs) are well recognized players in inflammatory conditions. Among them TLR-4 is involved in chronic inflammatory processes such as formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Objective: The present study was aimed to examine the effects of percutanoeus coronary intervention (PCI) as a revascularization method on monocyte expression of hTLR-4 and on the serum levels ...

متن کاملAssociation of ABCB1 Gene Polymorphisms and Clopidogrel Responsiveness in Iranian Patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent currently used for preventing stent thrombosis. Despite certain clinical benefits of clopidogrel in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), adequate antiplatelet effect has not been obtained in some patients. The present study was designed to investigate the potential association of ABCB1 (ATP-Binding Cassette, Subfamily B, member1) gen...
